9/12/22 - The Language of Paint

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  Our children express themselves in so many different ways!  Last week we explored the language of clay and this week we are exploring the language of paint.  We had fresh flowers in the classroom today and students had the idea to paint pictures inspired by the flowers.  Students were inspired by the flowers in different ways, some by colors, some by science, some by the structure of the flowers.  The conversations showed a rich example of  child led STEAM learning.

EmO: "A flower needs dirt so I'm making dirt"

GP: "I like rainbows so I'm making a rainbow flower."

LM: "Look at my flower"

EF: "I'm doing dirt because flowers need sun, dirt, and water. I made the stems too because they can stand up taller.”

FL: "It's a color explosion!"

The light table was an  exploration of colors today too!

Have a magnificent weekend!
