9/16/22 - Going on a Bug Hunt
Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! The children brought bug cages and nets to the forest today. Initially they were in search of bugs. They ended up finding all kinds of interesting things to collect in the forest from ants to berries to leaves to rotting wood. Some students created bug homes. LM heard a woodpecker which the class later located in the tree. Several students participated in painting in the forest. It was a great morning!
Yay! Let's Go!
"I found an egg! I don't know what kind of bug it came from but it's small and soft."
"We're painting mud on this stick. It's a mud bed for the the bugs."
"Look at these leaves! They're all stuck together!"
Birch room had a painting invitation set up in the forest where friends used sticks, leaves and other found nature as paintbrushes.
Hanging out with my cousin.
It's a ball with a crack.
This is our house. Whenever we come to the forest we come here.
After lunch the children had a very involved discussion about solar eclipse prompted by a book requested by a student. The children had a lot to share in the discussion and Ms. Stephanie had pictures of the total solar eclipse to share with the students. It was a fantastic discussion. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
