Work Together Wednesday

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! We are continuing our celebration of Week Of the Young Child and today's theme was Work Together Wednesday.  We also celebrated CS's birthday today with a chosen celebration that could not have been more appropriate for a working together celebration.  Each child sewed a piece of the rainbow on CS's rainbow costume making it a whole class project.  It has been wonderful watching all of the creative ideas that children have for birthday celebrations and how joyful they are to celebrate each other.  At long last the children were lucky enough to have storms this morning keeping us inside so we could make the volcanoes they have been planning for quite some time.  Children worked together in many other ways today building in the classroom and collaboratory.  They create so much joy in our space everyday working together and building beautiful friendships.

We did an experiment making volcanos.
EO - Volcanos are something like a big mountain that has lava in it.
JB - Volcanos are big hills that lava heats up in and then it explodes.
EO - It's gonna make a boom sound when it explodes.
JB - It's going to erupt.
RN - It's not gonna make a sound.

The volcano experiment was super exciting!

These friends make a boat house with fishing rods.

GNF - I made a food boat for the boat house and robots that take food to the people.

These friends worked together on making a castle with a garage for JM's train.

Have a collaborative day!
