Slip and Score
Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! Children finally got to experience the water beads they have watched grow and change over the past day. In response to a question posed by a student a couple days ago "what is a tadpole?" we got some books from the library and read about tadpoles and frogs. The children identified that the frog eggs are like our water beads. Children were also introduced to a new technique of connecting pieces of clay. They practiced scoring the class and using the slip "clay glue" to attach pieces. Several students used the technique to make snowpeople but mostly children enjoyed feeling the slip with their fingers and painting with it like finger paint. There were a variety of invitations for children to engage in during capers this morning and we still managed to get outside before the rain.
