Mealworms and Capers
Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! Oak students continue to be very interested in the animals around them and after some previous discussion and voting about taking on the responsibility of animals in the classroom we have introduced mealworm friends into our classroom today. The children had some things to say about the mealworms:
RN: "It's tickly... it's because its little legs"
DY: "What's the black one?"
AF: "It's dead, the black on is dead"
AF: "What do mealworms eat?"
DY: "What do mealworms do all the time?"
RN: "The are so tickly!"
KB: "There's so many worms!"
RN: "It's skin fell off"
RN: "They are surviving and when their skin falls off they keep surviving"
KB: "We got to take good care of these"
DY: "We feed them"
HH: "We can give them water"
HH: "We can give them water"
IF: "We can give them some food"
NN: "We could get water from an orange"
NN: "We could get water from an orange"
PK: "Or worms can go down the sink"
BW: "That's a really bad idea cause they can really go down the drain"
BW: "That's a really bad idea cause they can really go down the drain"
DY: "You can protect them"
