Soybeans
Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! CS brought in real soybean stalks from her cousin’s farm in Illinois and the children discussed what they thought they were, felt them and discussed how they felt and then got to see pictures of a real combine and read about how it works! We are very excited to continue our study of the soybean stalks!
BW: "I have a tree with edamame and it looks like that"
GK: "It's soybeans"
RN: "It's soybeans"
PK: "It's side beans"
LO: "It's silent"
NN: "I have edamame at my house and it looks like that edamame plant and tree"
IF: "I have that at my house my mommy is gonna grow it soon"
DY: "The beans on that plant look like pods"
AF: "It looks like stretched out beans"
TF: "They look like mealworms"
JG: "They mealworms"
Children also made mealworms out of clay among other things and KB made a very detailed duck!
