Letters

Image
Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  We have been discussing how to make letters in the Oak Room (we like to break letters into lines and curves and put together letters one (big or little) line or one (big or little) curve at a time to make letters feel more manageable.  But today we were exploring how many different materials we could use to make letters.  So far today we have tried making letters out of playdough, gluing paper, scrabble tiles, light table letters, blocks, trains, magnets, drawing, and even using our bodies to make letters.  The children also enjoyed working together in the collaboratory. Have a great day!

Snow!

Good afternoon, Oak Room family! The snow has been very exciting to watch and talk about and we even brought snow into the classroom to play with! The children were discussing with each other what it felt like and what they could do with it. XH was talking about the penguins at the zoo so for fun we turned on the zoo’s live webcam of the penguin habitat so we could hang out with the penguins on this snowy day! Stay warm and safe out there!
