AFC Oak

Good afternoon!  We made it to the end of 2024!  We wanted to thank you all for your generosity, for your partnership with your children, for sharing them with us and for your support.  It has been a wonderful first half of the school year getting to know the children and watching them get to know each other and watching all of their friendships both develop and grow.  We were enjoying the new playdoh tools this morning that were given to the class and can't wait to enjoy the other materials and all of the books!  We wish you a warm, healthy and happy winter break and New Year! Have a wonderful break!

Good afternoon, Oak Room family!  Today we enjoyed a concert by the Bristol Bravos and in the classroom we painted northern lights for the classroom ceiling.  When we turned off the lights to see if our northern lights would glow we noticed that some were starting to try to glow a little but realized that we're going to need to figure out the best way to charge up our northern lights to get them to glow.  We also noticed that turning on the projector's blue light without connecting it to a computer make our northern lights glow.  We will continue with our investigation.  It was fun to work together to make northern lights! Tomorrow is pajama day as well as bring a toy day for any children who wish to participate. Have a great day!

Good afternoon, Oak Room family!  Today we had our special last capers before winter break where each classroom offered a different winter movie and the classrooms combined ingredients to create a small winter snack mix for the children to enjoy with the movies.  After capers the students got to have a special story time in the collaboratory with our office staff (Ms. Heather, Ms. Angie, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Julia) and enjoyed winter stories by the nice cozy "fireplace".  We are looking forward to listening to the Bristol Bravos concert tomorrow and creating glow in the dark northern lights for our classroom to enjoy at rest time. Good afternoon, Oak Room family! Each day this week we are doing something special to celebrate the beginning of winter. Today the children made snowflakes to hang in the room to decorate for the winter.  We were able to borrow some adaptive scissors for the children to try out in addition to our usual scissors. Cutting is a fantastic exercise for developing hand motor skills and the children were so proud of their unique and beautiful snowflakes.  Have a great day!

Good afternoon, Oak Room family! This was a busy morning of painting, pluffle work, collaborative work, gym time, and more! Monday is a school wide hat day for any children who wish to wear a hat. Have a wonderful weekend!

Good afternoon, Oak Room family! This morning there were many different versions of cameras created with our junior engineer set! We also had fun dancing this morning and bundled up to play outside. LO: “Say cheese!” Have a great day!
