The Language of Paint
Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! The first few weeks of school we build and practice routines, get to know each other, start friendships that will grow during the year. The Oak Room students are doing great with all of that and we are starting to work with more complex materials now. In Reggio inspired schools such as ours we acknowledge that children express themselves and make meaning of their world through a variety of languages, just just spoken and written language. One of those languages is that of paint. Today we started using this language in the room and the children really enjoyed working with it and explaining what they made. We look forward to a lot more painting in the Oak Room as well as many more of the "100 Languages" of children.
Have a beautiful day!
