House

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  Last Friday the Oak Room moved around the room a bit to make space for some new cooking play equipment since the children have become very interested in cooking.  Today the children had a large class discussion and decided that instead of getting out "restaurant" or "babies" or "school", etc. they wanted to combine all of it into a large dramatic play area that they children voted on and chose the name "House" for that part of the room.  After deciding a couple things that House was missing and needed (pets - for which the children agreed could be fish and snails, and beds - for which the children have brought 4 mats to the space to use) we have begun discussions about how we can best use the space and how we can turn it into a house.  This work will continue and we are currently having ongoing discussions about how to use the space.

We have set up a short Wish List for the Oak Room that can be found at this link and it contains a smaller list of items that the Oak Room is wishing for.  There is a link on the short list that takes you to the gigantic Amazon wish list should you wish to browse the gigantic list.  We will continue to add items related to current work the students are doing to the short list.  It is completely OPTIONAL to get items on the wish list, it is not required or expected.  Several parents have asked for a shorter wish list of more desired items and this list is that.  Again, only if you want to get something, not at all required or expected.  There is not a QR code to the short list in the classroom yet but we will get one up soon.  The Oak Room teachers remain grateful for the support we have received from families.
