Bridal Shower!

Good afternoon Oak Room Family!  Today's blog actually happened yesterday but due to other meetings yesterday it is getting published today.  First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH TO OUR AMAZING PTO!  As you probably already know, our beloved Ms. Emily is getting married this summer.  We are over the moon with excitement and joy for this exciting celebration of love.  The PTO put together an amazing bridal shower for the children and families of the Oak Room yesterday and the children (and us) had so much fun!  There were games and such a beautiful gift of a special heart necklace and bracelet for Ms. Emily to wear on her wedding day.  A big thank you to parents that came out to celebrate with us, it really meant a lot.  If you are as excited for Ms. Emily as Ms. Connie and I are then you can feel free to visit her wedding website to read their story here EMILY AND JOHN'S WEDDING WEBSITE.  We are all wishing so much joy and happiness to Emily and John on their wedding, honeymoon, and the whole happily ever after!

Birthday Celebration and Creative Morning

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  It is important to us in the Oak Room that all children are celebrated so we have started celebrating our summer birthday friends.  August birthdays were celebrated at the beginning of the year and we are now celebrating June and July birthdays during May.  We had a great time celebrating XH this morning with movie and popcorn! Reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow for a work day for teachers. Have a wonderful long weekend!

The First Day!

     Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! We had a fun morning getting to know the school and talking through and practicing our school routines. We took a tour of the building and spent some time "at the park" (the children were calling the new playscape that park). It is beautiful to see the children help each other and take care of each other.  Any time one of the children was sad there were others ready to comfort them and help them feel better and encourage them to join in play.  We are very excited to watch new and old friendships among the students grow this year.  Many of you have emailed family photos or sent them in brightwheel, thank you for that.  We will get those printed and laminated to use in our classroom.  The children enjoy having a photo of their family that they can use for comfort, for drawing, to share their families with other students, etc.  Please feel free to email or brightwheel a family photo if you have not yet....

Self Portrait Work & Another Guest Reader

Good afternoon, Oak room families! Today some children had the opportunity to work on their self portrait paintings. It is amazing to see the amount of growth in the children's detailed work since we first did this project in the Fall! We are excited to put our pictures on these pieces and get them displayed soon. We also had another fabulous guest reader this morning! G.B.'s mom came and read a few stories to the class. Thank you so much for visiting, Ms. Kylie! Friends had some fun in the gym this morning, too. It's hard to be stuck inside during these rainy Spring days, but we are making the most of our indoor spaces. It was a fantastic morning!
