How Else Can We Make Faces?

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! Students are continuing their study of faces and were presented with materials including paper bags.  Students were inspired to make faces on paper bag puppets and are waiting for them to dry.  Some students were suggesting putting on puppet shows when the puppets are ready.  Some students wanted to continue their work with mirrors on self-portraits and in addition to making the shapes and parts of a face they are incorporating the colors of faces.  It has been very beautiful to watch the care and love that they put into their work.  Students also began experimenting with plastic needles, yarn and material in embroidery hoops to see how they could use the materials together.  Experimentation with new materials is an important part of gaining new skills and theories about how to work with the material.  It is as valuable to see what does not work as it is to see what does work.

We hope you enjoy this beautiful weather and have a fantastic day!
