Imaginative Play

We have had such a fun day!  The children were excited to use the chairs to make a train. They climbed aboard and set off on an adventure to the North Pole.  Loved it!!

We decided to pause our play to take advantage of the outdoors before the rain.  They talked about Oak room going on an adventure on the hillside to the tree house.  The teacher asked where would they find a tree house and NP said "the snail can be the tree house and we can call it the Oak snail tree house!"  What an awesome idea! And, the friends all agreed.  As we stood ready in line to go to the tree house, the friends made a wish and said "I wish we could go to the snail!" They pretended the wind started to blow and they began to spin faster and faster, then everything was still...absolutely still.  Afterwards, their adventure began...

"We are Jack and Annie."

These friends pretended to uncover a t-rex footprint while the other friend pretended to grab the t-rex (the tree.)
"We are Pteranodon's.  Watch out! We're going to get you!"

"Look at our t-rex dinosaur claws."

JB - We found this gadget and are trying to get it up to the top.
The friends work together lifting the gadget and with a little teacher support they finally get it up the stairs.  The teacher helped them to lay it in front of the railing where they began working on it.

JB - If the cherries are stuck on something we use the gadget to get them off.
The friends below are looking for dinosaur tracks.
Back inside the classroom the friends continued working on designing castles with the castle blocks.
GN - This is the drawbridge that leads to the door.
BW - This is Frog Creek woods.

We are so excited to see how much the children are using the adventures in the books to create their own unique adventures from building and designing castles to making transportation vehicles that can take them most anywhere.

Have an Awesome afternoon everyone!
