Studying Rocks

Happy Monday Families!  A small basket of rocks with magnifying glasses were set up for exploration today and who knew that it would generate so much interest between these friends.  As the friends examined the rocks they noticed several things about them and began describing the rocks as dinosaurs, dinosaur bones and meteors.
Look at this one!  This part right here is part of the dinosaur bone.
This one looks like a dinosaur bone.  It has eyes right here.

A little dialog between RN, GNF and AK as they examined the rocks.

RN - I know where dinosaurs live.
They live way faraway in Seattle in the forest at the end of the volcanoes.
AK - They live in the Jurassic period.
GNF - I think they live in whatever this says right here.
RN - The volcanoes erupt at 10:30 at night.
GNF - You know that some volcanoes erupt under the sea but not all them.
This looks like a meteor.
NP - That looks like a eye.  Look at this R!  Doesn't this look like an eye?
A dinosaur with a pointy head like this.
These are the eyes of the triceratops.
This looks like a duck-billed platypus.
Do you see it has a eye right here, one right here, a small nose and,
A mouth right here.
And, these look like dinosaur brains.
AK is sorting the rocks.  These are all the smooth ones and these are kind of smooth.
This one is the smoothest.  I like it so much! I want to take it home.
I love discovering nature.  I love rocks because they make me happy and I like dinosaurs too.  This one looks like a dino raptor.  Now it looks like a t-rex because of the jaw.
This rock looks just the same as this one.
NN - This is a animal rock with holes.
I found another dinosaur picture.  Look at the skeleton bones...
Just like this one!

What do you think about the dinos?

Have a wonderful afternoon!
