Food Tuesday
Good afternoon! The children were so eager to share their stories about the eclipse yesterday and explain what they saw. We spent morning meeting listening to each other share stories and we re-enacted the solar eclipse with round sun ceiling lights and a pretend moon to try and describe what we saw. This week is the Week of the Young Child®. The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association. Yesterday was Music Monday and today we were celebrating food. We got out our restaurant supplies, moved some furniture around in the room, and the children independently operated a bustling restaurant in the Oak Room. We also talked about our hummingbird friends from the fall and that they would be migrating back now so we put out some tasty hummingbird food and hung our feeder on the window for them. We also enjoyed a few food based stories including a class favorite, Arnie the Doughnut.
