Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  Today some children wore pink and we all had a surprise dance party in support of Nurse Sarah and Ms Erin in the gym.  It was fun!  We then enjoyed capers and the warm weather.  Tomorrow is pajama day for any students who wish to wear pajamas to school. Good afternoon, Oak room family! We had a lovely morning exploring and collecting nature from around the neighborhood. We were even lucky enough to spend some time right outside of the forest! The weather was absolutely perfect and children enjoyed finding signs of Fall with one another.    Oak Room Fall Nature Walk REMINDER: children have the option of wearing pink tomorrow! Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  Last week the children started Baby Doll Circle Time lessons and today the children had an opportunity to write thank you letters to the babies for helping us.   Have a great day!

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  Yesterday when we went out to the playground the children were shouting that it was Fall and cheering for the fall.  This morning before we went to the forest we had a discussion at meeting about how we know if it is fall.  The children suggested that red leaves, falling leaves, yellow leaves and orange leaves were things that indicated it was fall.  We then posed the question, "Is it fall in the forest too? Or just on our playground?"  When we arrived at the forest the children were noticing yellow trees, trees with no leaves, trees that still had leaves, red and orange leaves, as well as leaves on the ground.  The children said it was fall at the forest.   Have a wonderful weekend!

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  We started a new activity today in meeting called Baby Doll Circle Time.  Baby Doll Circle Time is a set of lessons that the children and teacher do together involving songs and games that we sing and play with the babies and each other.  The goal of Baby Doll Circle Time is to enhance the quality of the relationship between caregivers and children by strengthening attachment, attunement and social play.  Each lesson, in addition to to objectives and being fun, also supports development of certain executive skills.  For example, today's lesson ("Where is My Baby?") supports development of impulse/emotional control, prioritization, and working memory.   The children also began the next stage of their self portraits which includes using water colors to paint their drawings.  The process of creating a self portrait involves many stages of reflection on identity and supports developing a deeper sense of self-identity....

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  We had a good time getting our pictures taken today in the collaboratory and then we got to celebrate OD's birthday with a movie and popcorn!  The children continue to gravitate towards sociodramatic play and also enjoyed this beautiful weather outside!   Have a wonderful day!
