Baby Doll Circle Time

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  We started a new activity today in meeting called Baby Doll Circle Time.  Baby Doll Circle Time is a set of lessons that the children and teacher do together involving songs and games that we sing and play with the babies and each other.  The goal of Baby Doll Circle Time is to enhance the quality of the relationship between caregivers and children by strengthening attachment, attunement and social play.  Each lesson, in addition to to objectives and being fun, also supports development of certain executive skills.  For example, today's lesson ("Where is My Baby?") supports development of impulse/emotional control, prioritization, and working memory.

The children also began the next stage of their self portraits which includes using water colors to paint their drawings.  The process of creating a self portrait involves many stages of reflection on identity and supports developing a deeper sense of self-identity.  It is also a lot of fun!

Have a wonderful day!
