Birthday celebration!

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! We celebrated LO’s birthday today with a class favorite of “movie” and popcorn! It was a busy morning of playing and talking about the upcoming summer break. Many of the children are attending summer school here at Ambrose and were having a good time discussing that too. Please note that because tomorrow is a half day with pickup by 11:15am we are sending home backpacks today with bedding and extra clothing for those not attending summer school.  For those attending summer school we are sending their extra school clothes to their summer school classroom as well as sunscreen and bug spray if they have any at school. One day left, and that last day is BRING A TOY DAY! Children can bring a toy, stuffie, or game to school tomorrow.  Please do not send in weapons, anything electronic, or anything irreplaceable.  We will do our best to keep track and take care of toys brought in but accidents do happen and things break sometimes.

 Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! It was an exciting first day of meeting new friends and reconnecting with old friends.  The children started the process of creating classroom agreements and that process will continue over several meetings until we have a final set of classroom agreements.  We spent time playing in the Oak Room, we toured the school building and had a great time outside this morning.  This has been a fantastic beginning of school! Self Portrait Work & Another Guest Reader

Good afternoon, Oak room families! Today some children had the opportunity to work on their self portrait paintings. It is amazing to see the amount of growth in the children's detailed work since we first did this project in the Fall! We are excited to put our pictures on these pieces and get them displayed soon. We also had another fabulous guest reader this morning! G.B.'s mom came and read a few stories to the class. Thank you so much for visiting, Ms. Kylie! Friends had some fun in the gym this morning, too. It's hard to be stuck inside during these rainy Spring days, but we are making the most of our indoor spaces. It was a fantastic morning! Lunar New Year

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! The children have been learning about lunar new year and after the children helped repair Ms Lena’s lion last week we were able to do a lion dance as a class today.  The children listened to their own heartbeats while calm and after jumping around and then used instruments to act as the lion’s heartbeat fast and slow for different feelings of the lion. Today is the first day of Lunar New Year and the beginning of the year of the wood snake. We also enjoyed small capers today and practiced a fire drill.  We wish you a healthy and prosperous new year and hope that like the snake you can shed and leave behind that which you don’t want to bring with you into the new year!
