Frosty Forest Monday

 Good afternoon and happy Monday, Oak room families! We hope you all had a fabulous weekend. We enjoyed the chilly, yet sunny morning in the forest with our Sycamore friends. We're so glad the weather has been cooperating lately and allowed us to spend time outside!

Some friends noticed that there was frost formed on some of the wood around the forest. They noted that it felt cold, and disappeared when you touched it.




















Miss Connie gifted some new materials to the classroom (thank you, Miss Connie!) and friends enjoyed making fairy forests this morning, as well. The children can't wait to keep exploring these new, fun materials!

Birthday Celebration and Creative Morning

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  It is important to us in the Oak Room that all children are celebrated so we have started celebrating our summer birthday friends.  August birthdays were celebrated at the beginning of the year and we are now celebrating June and July birthdays during May.  We had a great time celebrating XH this morning with movie and popcorn! Reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow for a work day for teachers. Have a wonderful long weekend!

Self Portrait Work & Another Guest Reader

Good afternoon, Oak room families! Today some children had the opportunity to work on their self portrait paintings. It is amazing to see the amount of growth in the children's detailed work since we first did this project in the Fall! We are excited to put our pictures on these pieces and get them displayed soon. We also had another fabulous guest reader this morning! G.B.'s mom came and read a few stories to the class. Thank you so much for visiting, Ms. Kylie! Friends had some fun in the gym this morning, too. It's hard to be stuck inside during these rainy Spring days, but we are making the most of our indoor spaces. It was a fantastic morning! The First Day!

     Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! We had a fun morning getting to know the school and talking through and practicing our school routines. We took a tour of the building and spent some time "at the park" (the children were calling the new playscape that park). It is beautiful to see the children help each other and take care of each other.  Any time one of the children was sad there were others ready to comfort them and help them feel better and encourage them to join in play.  We are very excited to watch new and old friendships among the students grow this year.  Many of you have emailed family photos or sent them in brightwheel, thank you for that.  We will get those printed and laminated to use in our classroom.  The children enjoy having a photo of their family that they can use for comfort, for drawing, to share their families with other students, etc.  Please feel free to email or brightwheel a family photo if you have not yet....
