The First Day!

     Good afternoon, Oak Room Family! We had a fun morning getting to know the school and talking through and practicing our school routines. We took a tour of the building and spent some time "at the park" (the children were calling the new playscape that park). It is beautiful to see the children help each other and take care of each other.  Any time one of the children was sad there were others ready to comfort them and help them feel better and encourage them to join in play.  We are very excited to watch new and old friendships among the students grow this year.  Many of you have emailed family photos or sent them in brightwheel, thank you for that.  We will get those printed and laminated to use in our classroom.  The children enjoy having a photo of their family that they can use for comfort, for drawing, to share their families with other students, etc.  Please feel free to email or brightwheel a family photo if you have not yet....

Birthday Celebration and Creative Morning

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  It is important to us in the Oak Room that all children are celebrated so we have started celebrating our summer birthday friends.  August birthdays were celebrated at the beginning of the year and we are now celebrating June and July birthdays during May.  We had a great time celebrating XH this morning with movie and popcorn! Reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow for a work day for teachers. Have a wonderful long weekend!

Clean Up Superstars!

Good afternoon, Oak Room Family!  The Oak Room is focusing on being clean up superstars and cleaning up after ourselves.  After having discussions about being clean up superstars these children cleaned up more quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly that we have ever seen before!  They are truly clean up superstars and we will continue to practice this skill.  Have a superstar day!
